Regulation of Aromatherapy Products
Since there is no single regulatory framework for products used in aromatherapy, they must be classified according to the most appropriate regulatory framework that is currently available. It is the responsibility of companies and individuals who place any products on the market to correctly identify for themselves which of the several regulations apply to their products, and ensure that they are in compliance with the relevant legislation appropriately.
The applicable regulations are set out in the Aromatherapy Trade Councils Guidelines on the Regulation, Labelling, Advertising and Promotion of Aromatherapy Products.
